Introduction about the Distinguished Alumnae Mrs.Zhang Baolan


Mrs. Zhang Baolan, Han nationality, was born in NanxiongCity, Guangdong Province in January 1965. She is a professor-level senior engineer. She is the deputy director of Building Materials Institute ofFourthEngineering Research Institute of CCCC, and the director of Nansha Laboratory of CCCC. She graduated fromBuilding Materials College of Chongqing University.

In 1965, Zhang Baolan was born in a mining family in Baishun Town, Nanxiong City.

In 1983, Zhang Baolan was admitted to the Department of Building Materials of Chongqing University. In 1987, after graduating from the Department of Building Materials of Chongqing University, Zhang Baolan has been engaged in the research of high performance concrete formarine engineering in theFourthResearch Institute ofCCCC.

On April 29, 2011, Zhang Baolan wasdispatchedto theProject ofHong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to participate in the construction projectof the sunken tube concrete laboratory.

From May 2011 to 2017,sheserved as the director of laboratory of sunkentube prefabricationplantfortheislandtunnel project of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, andat thesametime shealsoserved asdirector of FourthEngineering Research Instituteof CCCC.

Sheis mainly engaged in the durability of concrete materialsused onports, docks, roads andbridges,and inthe subject research of special concrete performance, the research and development of new materials, popularization and application, and the special performance test and test of concrete materials, etc.

Shehasbeen responsible for and participated in more than 10 scientific research projects, and haswon 7 scientific and technological progress awards successively, among which 1first-classprize, 2 first prizes, 3 second prizesand 1third prize.She has6 scientific papers published in Chinese corejournals.She has a long-term participation in the maintenance of Zhanjiang exposure test station, data collection, testing and analysis.She has participated in and served as the sub-topic of the project "Research on the Preparation Technology of High performance Concrete Against Salt Pollution". She was in charge ofthe sub-topicresearchofunderwaterconcretematerials&durability. She participated in the preparation, compilation andformulation of China's first "Underwater concrete design and construction guide" .

In May 2011,she was assigned tobe in chargein the concrete laboratory of thepipe sinking prefabrication plantforthe Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on Niutou Island.In the proportion of concrete,Mrs.Zhang Baolan led the teamtorepeatedly proportion more than 100 tons of concrete, and finally worked out a "super formula" to improve the crack resistance of concrete.

In 2004, as the person in charge of the sub-topicforthe project "Research on the Preparation of CompleteSets of HighPerformance Concrete againstSalt Pollution", whichwon the second prize of China Navigation Society.In 2005, the project "Complete constructiontechnology of largerock-socketed steel pipepilewharf" won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of China Communications Group.In 2006, as the special person in charge, the completed project "Research on Underwater Concrete Materials and Durability" won the second prize of Science and Technology Award of China Highway Society.In 2008, the project "Technical Specification for Anti-corrosion of Concrete Structures in Harbour Works" won the second prize of China Port Association.

She has won the Guangdong May 1stWomen's Medal, Guangdong May 1stLabor Medal, Model of South Guangdong, "Hero of Construction" and other honorable titles. She is known as the "Iron Lady" on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the representative of the construction group of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.Mrs.Zhang Baolan challenged world-class problems and worked hard for 7 years on Niutou Island, solved one key problem after another in the construction of the bridge,worked amiracle of a million cubic meters of concrete without cracks, and made great contributions to the completion of the island tunnel project, the core project of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
