On April 28, 2024, the Red Revolutionary Spirits Propaganda Group from the Marxism School of Chongqing University was invited to participate in the "Study Ideology • Youth Voice—the 2rdJoint Study and Lecture Event among Universities Included in the 'Double World-Class Project'." This event was hosted by the Marxism School of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, promoting the May Fourth Spirit and deeply studying SecretaryGeneral Xi Jinping's views ontheyouth.The event brought together student representatives from Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang University, Sichuan University, Wuhan University, Chongqing University, Hunan University, and China Agricultural University for a joint lecture. The purpose of this event was to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, guide youth in promoting the May Fourth Spirit, and encourage them to undertake the mission of the era.
Cao Haojie, the head of the Red Revolutionary Spirits Propaganda Group at our school, delivered a thematic lecture at the event titled "The Youth’s Crucial Rolein the Process of aChinesePath toModernization." His lecture emphasized the significant influence oftheyouth on China's modernization process.Firstly, he reviewed the historical impact of the May Fourth Movement, highlighting the pioneering role of youth in China's social transformation. He then noted thattheyouth are the future of the nation and the hope of the people, serving as a vital force in the construction of modernization. He stressed their leading role in technological innovation and their position as the vanguard in national rejuvenation.
The Chinese path to modernization offers a broad stage and numerous opportunities for young people. Cao Haojie called on the youth to cherish these opportunities, strive to improve their skills and qualities, and steadfastly contribute their youthful energy toward realizing the Chinesedream.
