The 29th Red Rock Lecture Series of Our school was held online via tencent conference room on7thJun,2022.The lecture was hosted by vice dean of our school prof. Lv Jin.Duringthe lecture, Prof. WanXiaolong expoundedthe importance of scientific and technological innovation, especiallyin thecross-technologyarea, andcombined with thevariousachievements made in the Sci. & Techinnovation industry in Chengdu-Chongqing region in recent years,bytakingthe Secretary-general Xi Jinping's important exposition on scientific and technological innovation as the starting point.He noted that,tobuild China into the world-leading Scientific and Technological Powerhouse, it is necessary for college students to cultivate and strengthen their own cross-sectional research thinking. Therefore, it is able to gather elite strengthsin the talent team, in order to make them the leaders in important science and technology fields and the pioneers in emerging frontier crossover fields, then finally realize the improvement of the overall level of Sci. & Tech in China.
In addition,Prof.Wanalso compared the differences between the Chengdu-Chongqing Science and Technology Innovation Center,and the science and technology innovation centers in Beijing, Shanghai and the Greater Bay Area(Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area). He pointed out the dominance of theChengdu-ChongqingScience and Technology Innovation Center in the fields of nuclear energy, aerospace, intelligent manufacturing and electronic information. In the future, Chengdu-Chongqing region will focus on the goal of building a scientific and technological innovation center with national influence, gather high-level Sci. & Tech innovation resources vigorously, and promote the layout of national strategic Sci. & Tech forces.
After the lecture,Prof.Liu Haitao from the School of Marxism of Shanghai Jiao Tong University,Prof.He Yue andProf.Yang Changfu from the School of Marxism of Chongqing Universitycarried out active academic exchanges withProf.Wan.Students who participated in the lecturealso said that,Prof.Wanlinked the Secretary-general Xi Jinping's important exposition on scientific and technological innovation with regional development, industry trends andourscientific researchwork. They thoughtProf.Wandeeply analyzedthe underlying logic of the development of information technology,and broadenstheirvision.
