DuringDecember 2019 to August 2020,a number of teams composed ofacademicmasters and MPA students in our school respectively focused on poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, community governance, state-owned enterprise restructuring and old city reconstruction.After internal evaluation, five casesweresubmitted to theCompetition Committee.
Under the guidance of Zhang Peng,professor and vice dean of the school of public management affairs, our team (Xie Zhenjiang, Li Yingpu,Luo Meng, Chen Sheng and Jing Huiling)completed the research and case writing work through a combination of fieldstudyand telephone interviewsdespite all thedifficultiesbrought by the coronavirus pandemic.In the end,32 teams achieved to thenational final, and ourteam's work "From poor village to happy village: the new village of ‘Utopia’ - Pujiang Mingyue village re-creation and transformation" won the third prize.
According to team members, this award-winning case works focuses on rural development issues. It explores how poor villages achieve the accumulation of developmental elements and capital conversion, and how to improve rural resilience under systematic planning. The case works have also been positively evaluated by the judges of the competition, who said that the relevant research results have important reference value and practical significance for the revitalization of rural areas in China.
