【PERSONAL PROFILE】
Dr. Qiaoli Xie graduated from Chongqing University (Ph.D. in Biology Science/Engineering, 2014.12). After the completion of postdoctoral research at Cornell University and Xi'an Jiaotong University, she joined Chongqing University (2019.04) to carry out teaching/research work. She has presided 1 Project supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 7 Projects supported by Chongqing Natural Science Foundation, Chongqing Innovation Project for Returned Overseas Chinese,
First-class funding from China Postdoctoral Foundation, Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province, Postdoctoral Foundation of Shaanxi Province, Frontier Interdisciplinary Project of Central Universities, etc. She has published more than 30 papers in journals such as Journal of Experimental Botany, Horticultural Research, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, etc. Moreover, she has applied and obtained 3 invention patents . She participated in the 2016 ASPB (Annual Meeting of the American Society of Plant Biologists), the 4th International Conference of Horticultural Research and the 2019 Annual Meeting of Chongqing Society of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and gave 3 oral reports. Subjects taught by Dr. Qiaoli Xie include "Cell and Genetic Engineering Experimental Technology", "GMO Testing and Safety Evaluation", "Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Experimental Technology", etc. She was awarded as an innovative individual of "Huang Shanglian Academician" of Chongqing University, and won the Chongqing City and Chongqing University Distinguished Doctoral Thesis awards. Particularly, she is now a member of the Distinguished Graduate supervisor Team in Chongqing City, and the team members have supervised a number of students won the Chongqing City and Chongqing University Distinguished Doctoral Thesis awards.
【RESEARCH INTERESTS】
1. Plant Physiology and Plant Molecular Biology: Plant growth and development and stress regulation, plant functional genomics and epigenetic regulation and bioinformatics. This will explore the basic laws and molecular mechanisms of plant growth and development, and provide scientific basis and new targets for molecular breeding.
2. Metabolism and synthetic biology: Synthesis and metabolic regulation of important natural products and its new applications. This will investigate
the synthesis and metabolic regulation mechanisms of important natural products to provide scientific basis for clinical treatment, food nutrition, and beauty applications.
3. Genetic engineering: Plant genetic engineering improvement, identification and production application. Here we study the important traits genes of edible, medicinal and ornamental plants, use genetic engineering technology to make their key traits better, to improve the edible, medicinal and ornamental value, and ultimately to increase the economic efficiency of productions.
